Giulia Botta

International Training Centre of ILO

Giulia Botta works as Associate Programme Officer at the Development & Investment Programme of the International Training Centre of ILO, in the Procurement Management Training portfolio. She conducts research and professional training in procurement management, sustainable public procurement and advanced contract management. She coordinates and supports training activities under the Diploma in Public Procurement Management for Sustainable Development and the design and development of projects and capacity building in procurement professionalization with national governments, international organizations, IFIs and MDBs.

She has previous experience in professional training for the UN System having worked for the UN System Staff College (UNSSC), for the Knowledge Center for Sustainable Development in Bonn (Germany) and for the Knowledge Center for Leadership and Management.

She holds a Ph.D. in Law and Sustainable Development, with focus on Sustainable Public Procurement and human rights law, at the University of Milan. Her research focus is on public procurement and Business & Human Rights in supply chains. She has conducted visiting research at the Danish Institute for Human Rights and the University of Copenhagen – Centre for Private Governance - and other research projects at the University of Lyon – Chair of Public Contracts Law.
