Schupp Florian

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Florian Schupp is Senior Vice President Purchasing Automotive Technologies at Schaeffler Group in Germany and since October 2019 is also Adjunct Professor for Logistics at Jacobs University in Bremen, Germany where he holds Courses in “Supply Chain Management” and in “International Procurement”. At the same time he teaches a course in “International Procurement” at the Technical University in Berlin.
His research interests cover a variety of topics, such as purchasing strategy, elements of purchasing in nature, behavioral aspects in purchasing, digitalization in purchasing, value of supplier innovation, parametric purchasing auctions, working capital management, buyer‐supplier relationships, supplier quality and supply management.
He co-operates on some university research projects, e.g. with Prof. A. Ancarani and Prof. C. Di Mauro at the University of Catania in Italy, with Prof. Timo Kärri at the University of Lappeenranta in Finland and Prof. George Zsidisin at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, USA.
After his graduation at the University of Karlsruhe in 1998 in Industrial engineering focusing on business management, he did his PhD in ‘Purchasing and supply management strategies in logistics – conception of a modular decision model’ – at the Technical University in Berlin in 2003.
He holds different memberships: Since 2019 he is member of the Advisory Board of Xtronic, in Böblingen, Germany; since 2014 he is member of the Advisory Board of BLG Logistics, in Bremen, Germany; since 2010 he is member of the International Purchasing and Supply Education and Research Association, IPSERA, Netherlands and recently he is co-foundig a university start-up called
