Giorgiantonio Cristina

Cristina Giorgiantonio was born in Latina on 6 June 1977, she graduated with honours in Law from the Sapienza University of Rome in October 2001. She joined the Bank of Italy in January 2005, where she worked in the Research Department (Law and Economics Division) until 2019.
She has published articles on civil justice, public procurement, public-private partnerships, consumer protection and more generally on regulatory matters. She has been visiting researcher at Yale Law School and visiting scholar at NYU School of Law. She has participated as speaker in numerous national and international conferences on law and economics. She has held seminars on public procurement and public-private partnerships at several Italian universities.
At the end of 2019 she moved to the Consumer Protection and Anti-Money Laundering Directorate. On July 2020, she was appointed Head of the Complaints Division in the new Directorate General for Consumer Protection and Financial Education.
